Music and Dance Showcase coming up

On Tuesday evening 12 September, É«ÇéÖ±²¥â€™s Music and Dance Showcase Evening will be held at the Don Bosco Creative Arts Centre, Guilford Young College. This is a new event on the Dominic calendar and will provide an opportunity to present some of the larger scale Music and Dance works students have developed this year.

Year 5 Taster Day success

On this last Tuesday, É«ÇéÖ±²¥ welcomed Year 5 students from our local Catholic primary schools to enjoy a ‘Taster Day’ of secondary school as they prepare to complete their primary education and transition over the next 18 months into high school. ​Students and their teachers from St Therese’s Moonah, St Brigid’s New Norfolk, St Paul’s Bridgewater and Holy Rosary Claremont joined our own É«ÇéÖ±²¥ Year 5 students for a great day of cooperative learning, fun challenges and a sports and games afternoon in true Salesian style.

Music and Art building update

The good news is the building schedule is on track for completion during Term 4. With the site in such a prominent position in the school, the build has been highly visible, and although outward signs of progress appear to have been slow, there has been constant activity, drilling into rock and preparing the footings and configuring the complex design. Launch into Learning program success

​Launch into Learning continues to be a great success. We have two sessions running each Tuesday. Misty Morning session from 9.30am-11.00am and Apple Afternoons from 1.30pm-3.00pm. Each week our very talented and creative Kinder teacher, Mrs Linda Douglas, leads the group in activities that are fun and engaging but also encourage the development of fine motor skills and early literacy and numeracy.

K-6 Pastoral Care: What a week!

​There have been many wonderful Pastoral Care events over the last week; Year 5 had an important whole-year at Far South Wilderness Camp; we looked at the idea of inclusion on the National Day Against Bullying and we recognised the importance of ‘Everyone Belongs’ on Harmony Day. The Creative Arts Project

The Creative Arts Project is off to a great start in Term 1, on the journey to transform the ground floor of the old Middle School Art and Craft Electives Block. This level once housed the metalwork rooms, and most recently The Anzac Buffet space and Uniform Shop​.
