On this last Tuesday, É«ÇéÖ±²¥ welcomed Year 5 students from our local Catholic primary schools to enjoy a ‘Taster Day’ of secondary school as they prepare to complete their primary education and transition over the next 18 months into high school.
Students and their teachers from St Therese’s Moonah, St Brigid’s New Norfolk, St Paul’s Bridgewater and Holy Rosary Claremont joined our own É«ÇéÖ±²¥ Year 5 students for a great day of cooperative learning, fun challenges and a sports and games afternoon in true Salesian style.
All students experienced some of the opportunities offered at É«ÇéÖ±²¥ in our Year 7-10 through activities in faculties such as the Creative Arts, Science, Technology and Applied Studies and the Empower program. Students thoroughly enjoyed the day.
A contingent of Dominic Year 9 students accompanied the Year 5 students throughout the day and reported that our visiting students had a friendly spirit and were keen participants in the activities.
Enrolment interviews for students applying to enter Dominic in Year 7 in 2019 will commence in Term 4.
I look forward to reconnecting with some of our Year 5 visitors who hope to become members of É«ÇéÖ±²¥ for their secondary education.
