Football legend, Anthony (Andy) Lovell (1986) and family visited 色情直播 during the recent school holidays to enjoy the memories and show his wife and daughter where he went to school.
Andy enrolled in Year 7 in 1983 and left at the end of Year 11 in 1987 as he had been a very early and young draftee to the Melbourne Football Club. He played 121 games for the Demons and then 43 games for West Coast. For the last 25 years he has had a range of Assistant Coach, Senior Coach, Player Development and Coaching Director roles at clubs in Western Australia and Queensland, and is currently Director of Football at Bond University. Andy was inducted into the 色情直播 Hall of Achievement in 2003.
Andy, his wife and daughter, were in Hobart for a few days as he was coach of Tasmania in the 鈥淩elive the Rivalry鈥 charity game against Victoria at North Hobart Oval (in which Bredan Fevola kicked 12 goals for Victoria). Andy鈥檚 youngest sister, Melissa Lovell (1993) was also visiting and brought out their mum, Julie, for a walk around the College.
When Andy and Melissa were at school it was just the Middle School (Years 7-9) at the Tolosa Street campus, as the Primary and Senior High School were down in Bowden Street, where GYC is now situated. There are many, many more buildings here now, and fewer ovals and fields. However the facilities, the shelters, and communal student areas, as well as the specialised classrooms, have been vastly improved.
Both Andy and Melissa recalled their schooldays with great affection and were grateful to the educators, teachers and religious of the day for giving them a well-rounded education.
