Kinder teachers and kinder animals

Our three Kinder Classrooms have been named after three native animals for 2019.

Kinder A, taught by Mrs Douglas Monday-Wednesday, will be known as timita (possum). This class will be based in the Magone Building (near the oval).

Kinder B, taught by Mrs Doyle Wednesday-Friday, will be tuminana (little fairy penguin) and will be based in the MPC (near the netball courts).

Kinder C taught by Miss Carver Wednesday-Friday, will be larila (platypus) and will be based at the front of the school (near the office).

We have been authorised to use the actual palawa kani names. palawa kani is the language of the Tasmanian Aborigines. We believe this will signify the growth and acceptance of palawa kani in Tasmania, affirm the role language plays in sustaining culture, and celebrate one of the world's oldest cultures.

Our staff and students will enjoy learning about these animals and look forward to sharing their learning with family and the community.

We also hope this will be the only year the three kindergarten classes are split physically. The first stage of our K-6 redevelopment is the building of Kindergarten and Prep classrooms ready for 2020.

The nearest car parking for Kinder A timita will be the carpark behind the Magone Building, accessed via the entrance at the DELC on Tolosa Street.

Kindergarten 2020 applications for enrolment are now being processed and interviews will happen soon. Would you like to apply? Go to Enrolment now!
