Dominic students stand out at SSATIS Athletics

Congratulations to the 86 students who proudly represented É«ÇéÖ±²¥ in the SSATIS Athletics Carnival at the Domain Athletics Centre on Wednesday. All students represented the College with pride, commitment and showed exceptional leadership skills.

A big thank you to our É«ÇéÖ±²¥ staff, students and wonderful parent support. The day was a successful day with a number of our students placing in their events.

A special mention to the following students for placing in their respective events:

Lachlan Majchrzak:

  • U/13 Long Jump 2nd place
  • U/13 High Jump 2nd place

Camden Clark:

  • U/14 Shot Put 2nd place
  • U/14 Long Jump 2nd place

Max Brideson:

  • U/14 Boys Javelin 1st place
  • U/14 100m 2nd place
  • U/14 Discus Throw 1st place

Lily Cox:

  • U/14 Girls Discus 2nd place

Kelsea Cano Calderon:

  • U/14 Girls Long Jump 3rd place

Ella Freeman:

  • U/14 Girls 100m 3rd place

Megan Steele:

  • U/15 Javelin 3rd place

Xanthe Brouwer:

  • U/16 shot put 3rd

Samuel Walker:

  • Open Para Ambulatory 100m 2nd
  • Sam did not place in the U/16 200m, but we are very proud to announce that he broke the T38 U/16 Australian Record!
  • U/16 Shot Put 1st – This was also a T38 U/18 AUSTRALIAN RECORD
  • Sam also broke the T38 Australian Record in High Jump for U/16, U/18 and U/20 as well as the Australian all comers!

U/14 Year 8 Boys Relay Team – 1st

U/14 Year 8 Girls Relay Team – 2nd place

U/13 Year 7 Girls Relay Team – 2nd place

U/16 Year 10 Boys Relay Team – 3rd place

What an achievement for these students!

It is important that these students are now watching out for information on the upcoming SATIS Athletics Carnival to be held at St Leonard’s Athletics Track, Launceston on Saturday 22 September. More information about the SATIS Carnival is coming soon.

A huge congratulations to Samuel Walker who was also presented with his International Representation Bib by Athletics Australia at the SSATIS Carnival. Sam was recognised as the 377th para athlete to represent Australia, with former Commonwealth Games representative Brendan Hanigan presenting the award.
