Both DOSA sides are into the grand final

Both DOSA reserves and seniors are through to the grand final in the Old Scholars Football Association roster, with stirring wins over St Virgils Old Scholars on Saturday 27 August.

The DOSA reserves were strong throughout the four quarters in one of their best performances of the year coming at the right time. Old scholar Jude Savedra was the stand-out player with eight goals for DOSA but others, including Lochie Pullen, were prominent. DOSA defeated St Virgils 17 9 111 to 10 10 70.

In the seniors the game was close at each break with barely more than a goal the difference. Old scholars, Scotty Jones and Justin O'Brien had strong midfield games. DOSA edged ahead at half-time but St Virgils had a great third quarter and led by five points at three quarter time and kicked a goal in the early part of the fourth.

DOSA had plenty of opportunities locking the ball in their front half, but could only score nine behinds in a row to be still behind by four with 25 minutes gone and little time left. And then squeezed a goal, the siren rang and the shattered St Virgils players could not believe they had lost 13 16 94 to 13 14 92.
