The 30-years Year 10 Class of 1991 Reunion was held at É«ÇéÖ±²¥ on 6 November 2021, upstairs in the White House and a good crowd enjoyed proceedings.
Finger food, plenty of liquid refreshments and photos and documents were ready as the middle-aged old scholars arrived. Sarah Mulcahy brought along some mementos of classmates who have passed away - some at school and other recently. This was a lovely and much appreciated memorial. Thank you Sarah!
Fr Bernie Graham SDB also brought some photos from activities and excursions from 1990, his first year at Glenorchy. Mr Tony Webb was in attendance - Tony was the Primary School Principal for many of these students. ms Beth Gilligan, current É«ÇéÖ±²¥ Principal, welcomed everyone and conducted a tour of the facilities, focussing on the areas which have been developed since this class had their last reunion, ten years ago.
The group enjoyed visiting the new Chapel (their old one burned down in 2003) where they saw the new Memorial Wall for students and teachers who had passed away while at É«ÇéÖ±²¥. They also very much enjoyed seeing the Rat Hole (the Rua Hub) and the tabletennis tables ("Where are the 8-ball pool tables though?!" they asked.) And where are the trampolines?
There were parents who had sent their children to É«ÇéÖ±²¥ in the last decade, but others who had not been back for many, many years.
A great group, who had a lovely positive attitude to life and their experiences, commented both Ms Gilligan and Mr Webb.
